Director, Community Outreach

Ieesha Johnson is the director of community outreach at Infinite Legacy and the visionary founder of The Decision Project®, a grassroots initiative that empowers socially disadvantaged communities to make informed and inspired decisions about donation and transplantation through culturally-grounded education and engagement.

She began her career at OneLegacy, the organ procurement organization serving Los Angeles, California, where she worked first as a hospital services coordinator and then as an in-house coordinator at one of the city’s largest trauma centers. Ieesha joined Infinite Legacy in 2010 as a hospital services coordinator, transitioned to the community outreach department in 2014 and became the department's director in 2021. In this role, she leads efforts to increase awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation across the state of Maryland.

Ieesha currently serves as president of the Association for Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation (AMAT), a member of the Donate Life America Advisory Council and a member of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations' (AOPO) IMPACT Committee. She is formerly an expert panelist for the Division of Transplantation within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she contributed to national strategies on donation education and outreach.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Science in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne. Ieesha is also a member of the American Public Health Association and the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, and she previously served as the health chair for the NAACP Maryland State Conference.
