Director, Family Services

Shelagh joined Infinite Legacy in 2015 as an Organ Family Services Coordinator. Originally from Canada, she was a Medical Social Worker in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department of a tertiary care hospital for 30 years, providing grief and behavioral support to countless patients and their families. Shelagh obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1985 from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and her Master's Degree in Social Work in 1986 at the University of Toronto.

Shelagh supports the Family Services Coordinators in their end-of-life conversations with families in the hospitals and oversees the grief resources and after care provided to donor families.  She is proud of all the work that Family Services Coordinators provide to donor families and has represented their interests at the Ethics Committee of Infinite Legacy since 2017.

Shelagh is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Maryland and Ontario, Canada and is a member of the Family Services Council of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations.
