In Memory of
#DonateLife. I hope you will please seriously consider organ donation. It has positively impacted my life and my husband Bruce’s legacy. Please allow me to share why:
Bruce's authentic enthusiasm for his faith, family, and friends illuminated him. He served as a constant anchor for our family. He passed suddenly at the age of 56 on April 11, 2022, three years ago. Bruce was a registered organ donor, and when the phone rang after I returned home from the emergency room, I knew his wishes.
Organ donation is not just a one-time act but part of a living legacy. It is a testament to the enduring impact of a selfless act, a reminder that love and compassion can transcend even the most tragic circumstances. Infinite Legacy has added meaning to his already memorable life. He lives on in Christ, those who knew him, and those in need. I feel profound peace knowing I had carried out his wishes.
What I did not know was how extensive the care services that I was to receive as the wife of a donor. Imagine the tender impact of receiving a letter from someone whose life was transformed by his gift. I received two letters, one from a man who received his cornea and one from a man who can now walk and even run due to receiving Bruce's knee tendons. In the form of a donation, love stretches us beyond what we thought we could bear, inspiring hope and transformation.
Thank you all for reading this. I was so blessed to have been loved by Bruce and I know he supports my advocacy in this critically important cause.
With Love,
Brigitte Schmidt, wife of Donor Bruce Schmidt
