David Crowthers
Donor Family or Friend
Sam Crowthers lived with passion, kindness, and an unwavering love for those around him—especially his beloved dog, Kilo. In a final act of selflessness, Sam was struck by a car while trying to save Kilo during a tragic accident that claimed both of their lives. Sam died a hero, and through organ donation, he gave the gift of life to others. His honor walk was powerfully attended—a testament to his impact. Who knew that his choice to become an Organ Donor earlier in the year would be fulfilled so soon.
Sam found joy in everyday moments: dedicated workouts in the gym, time spent with his girlfriend, days off enjoying family and friends, playing and raising Kilo and long drives in his cherished Dodge Charger Scat Pack. As a devoted Retail Manager, Sam led with energy, loyalty, and integrity. In his youth, Sam excelled at baseball, loved trips to the beach, playing sports, and cheered on the Tampa Bay Rays, Lightning and Buccaneers.
Sam was a devoted son, a loving partner, an inspiring friend, honorable leader, a dependable teammate and an amazing human being. He is deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the lives he saved and the countless hearts he touched.
Below is a quote I recently came across regarding the loss of a loved one and organ donation that makes his loss bittersweet..."I didn’t know you can get joy from grief, but you can. You can have two opposing emotions simultaneously.”
You are my hero Sam Crowthers, your selfless act is saving lives, helping others see and ultimately making them whole again! You will be missed but never forgotten! Love Dad
