Brody was the most beautiful and loving boy you’d ever meet. He was defined by his blond, surfer-boy floppy hair, his megawatt smile, charming and positive personality, and his excellent basketball skills. He was an elite AAU basketball player and man, he lived for ball! Brody was loud, his voice and laughter drowning out everything around him, but that’s because he was always so happy and not afraid to show it!
He cared deeply for his friends, his family, and sports. Brody could talk sports with you ALL DAY LONG! He was also a straight-A student because Mom and Dad always said that “grades come first!”
However, on October 19, 2020, our hearts were shattered into a million pieces as we lost Brody. Extensive testing only got us a “natural causes” ruling on his death certificate. We have been humbled by the outpouring of love we are continuing to receive; the kid truly made and is making an impact on so many.
We’ve started The Brody Michael Foundation to keep Brody’s legacy and memory alive. Through the Foundation, we awarded six college scholarships in June 2021, and will continue this for years to come. In addition, Brody now has a “clothing line” in his honor, with #belikebrody being worn by hundreds of people showing their love for him. I know he is smiling big about this!
