Allen died suddenly in an accident at our home. He was a swim coach who owned one of the biggest swim programs in Montgomery County. He also worked as the aquatics director at Montgomery College, and they named the building where he worked after him when he died. He also owned several day camps over the years.
His passion was working with kids and he was terrific at it. He could teach a rock to swim! Our daughter and son were both influenced by him and chose careers working with children.
My husband Allen was fun! Always surrounded by friends. Close to 1,000 people came to his funeral — a dozen people there said he was their best friend.
I have the privilege of being a speaker for Infinite Legacy, so I get to talk about him regularly, keeping his memory alive. I am so sorry that he didn’t get to meet his grandchildren.
